It looks like the First Family will extend their stay
in the nation’s capital once President Barack Obama ends his historic
term. According to USA TODAY,
the leader of the free world and his family will stay in Washington,
D.C. until their youngest daughter, Sasha Obama, finishes her studies at
Sidwell Friends School.
During a stop in Milwaukee, Mr. Obama said, “We’re going to have to stay a couple of years so Sasha can finish. Transferring someone in the middle of high school — tough.”
Dating back to an interview in 2013 with Barbara Walters, Obama also said that Sasha would solely remain the deciding factor in where they decide to move following the end of his presidency. “We gotta make sure that she’s doing well,” he said. “Sasha will have a big say in where we are.”
We may not have the dynamic family within the confines of The White House next year, but at least we know they’ll still be close to their former stomping grounds in case you run into them walking their dogs on the National Mall or enjoying nature’s gifts during the Cherry Blossom Festival.
