Corruption lingers at the core of many of the world's underdeveloped nations.
Nigeria, the most populated country in Africa, is perceived to be the most corrupt among 60 countries evaluated, according to data from the 2016 Best Countries rankings. The rankings are a characterization of 60 countries based on a survey of more than 16,000 people from four regions.
In the survey, respondents answered how closely they related each of the 60 countries to the term "corrupt." Respondents were given no further specifications of the term, so interpretation of the word "corrupt" was left to survey respondents.
Elections in Nigeria face scrutiny, even though government accountability is seen as having improved. In 2015, President Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari became the first opposition party candidate to win an election. As part of his presidential campaign, Buhari promised to crack down on corruption.
"When you fight corruption, it fights back," Nuhu Ribadu, the former chairman of Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, said in a TedX talk in Berlin.

Nigeria's former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki, is scheduled to face trial on charges of fraud and money laundering, according to Bloomberg. It is the country's first high-profile corruption trial since Buhari took office.
In November, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari attributed this incident – and other alleged abuses of power – to the country's inability to defend itself from other threats, including Boko Haram, an extremist group that began its conquest in 2009 to create an Islamic state.
Russia, seen as the second-most powerful country in the world, is also seen as the sixth most corrupt.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Colombia – a country synonymous with illegal drug kingpins like Pablo Escobar – gives Nigeria a run for its money as the second most corrupt country, based on perception.
Below are the 10 countries perceived to be the most corrupt, according to data from the 2016 Best Countries rankings.

Thought Pattern of A Top Achiever !!!

Top achievers’ thought processes are often the same. I was recently reminded of this when a friend shared a story about how he’s been able to achieve consistent double-digit growth every year for the last decade.
It all began when I asked him, “What’s your secret to

How to Reduce Your Daily Stress

According to a dozens of recent studies you can add heart disease to the list of health problems caused by stress. You’ve probably heard that “stress kills” before, and now research is revealing just how devastating the destruction can be for your body.
Watch this short video to discover a simple 3-minute Innercise proven to dramatically reduce stress levels:

If you’re not in a place where you can watch the video right now, here’s the gist of it. Your brain and nervous system are not designed to handle long-term stress.
SOME stress is actually good for you, but too much will drain your energy and overwhelm your willpower. And when your body goes into burnout from chronic stress it damages pretty much every part of your cognition.
Your left prefrontal cortex (the CEO of your brain) stops functioning properly which cripples your productivity. Your immune system starts to shut down and you sleep worse. That means viruses and bacteria can slip through your defenses and infect your system with ease.
Worse, stress has also been linked to depressive disorders.
And now researchers are proving it causes heart problems?
Geese Louise! Stress is scary stuff…
So, how do you fight back against this ferocious foe?
You Innercise!
This Innercise is called “The Adult Time Out.” It’s so simple that literally anyone can do it.
Here’s all you have to do:
  1. Schedule an event in your calendar 3 times a day for a “Time-Out” (or set a reminder on your phone)
  2. When the “Time-Out” comes, take 3 minutes out of your schedule, close your eyes and breathe in and out.
  3. You’ll be amazed as you can actually FEEL your stress evaporate. (Also, if you look in a mirror before and after, you’ll see a visible difference in your face. Try it! It’s incredible.)
Based on neuro-scientific principles you can think of this like pushing the reset button on your brain. And when you push that button it pumps the brakes on all the cortisol, adrenaline and norepinephrine that flood your brain when you’re stressed.
The reason this works is because it signals to your brain that everything is okay, and you’re safe. Then you can finally relax. And when you’re relaxed, you already know how much more productive you are.
So, now you’ve read this article, you know the exercise and it only takes 3 minutes so there are two things you need to do right now.
First, give it a shot. Close your eyes, for 3 minutes and focus on your breath. When you’re done that, leave a comment below on how you feel when you’re done and share this article on Facebook.
Maybe you could tag a friend who you know has a busy schedule, or someone who’s told you they feel overwhelmed, I’m sure they’d appreciate you for it.
Happy Innercising!

2 female bombers kill 58 in northeast Nigerian refugee camp

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (AP) — Two female suicide bombers blew themselves up in a northeastern Nigerian refugee camp, killing at least 58 people, health and rescue officials said Wednesday.
A third woman bomber was arrested and gave officials information about other planned bombings that helped them increase security at the camp, said an official of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency.
Some 78 people are being treated for wounds from the twin explosions that occurred Tuesday morning in a camp of some 50,000 people driven from their homes by the Boko Haram Islamic uprising, according to health workers in Maiduguri, the biggest city in northeastern Nigeria and birthplace of Boko Haram. They spoke on condition of anonymity as did rescue officials who said they were not authorized to speak to reporters.
The emergency management official said 51 bodies were buried Wednesday in Dikwa, the scene of the carnage 85 kilometers (53 miles) northeast of Maiduguri. Health workers said five bodies were brought to the main hospital in Maiduguri. PR Nigeria, an agency that disseminates official news, Wednesday night quoted health and rescue officials putting the number of dead at 58. The officials said poor cellphone service delayed news of the attack.Rescue workers transport a victim of a suicide bomb attack at a refugee for treatment at a hospital, in  Maiduguri, Nigeria, Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016. Boko Haram's 6-year-old Islamic insurgency has killed 20,000 people, made 2.5 million homeless and spread across Nigeria's borders.
In northern Cameroon, officials said two suicide bombers believed to have come from Nigeria on Wednesday killed 10 people and injured 40 attending a wake in a border village, including children. Attacks in Chad and Niger also are blamed on Boko Haram.
Since troops from Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon last year drove the Islamic extremists from towns and villages where they had announced an Islamic caliphate, the insurgents have taken to attacking soft targets such as mosques and market places where many people gather.
